On entering the exhibition room of the Wella Museum, one steps into a completely self-enclosed world. The whole appears to be filled by a light that has an almost magical quality, with the exhibits initially only revealing themselves in outline as indistinct forms. In this way, the visitor is induced to embark on a voyage of discovery through the history of beauty care.

From a collection embracing over 3,000 pieces, about 300 objects have been selected for exhibition in the Wella Museum. The aim of this selection was to provide a representative cross-section covering the history of beauty care extending from the highly developed culture of Ancient Egypt right up to modern times. As the exhibition is limited to just a few carefully chosen items, the visitor has the opportunity to focus more closely on individual objects and thereby attain a fuller awareness of their uniqueness and individual beauty.
