“Whoever wishes to read the future must leaf through the past”.
André Malraux (1901-1976), French author

In 1880, the foundation stone was laid for one of world’s most important cosmetic companies. In the days of the German Empire, Franz Ströher, a much-travelled hairdresser, began to produce wigs, artificial plaits and hairpieces in his small family business. From this time onwards, the history of the Wella company itself has also been closely linked with the history of personal hygiene.
